Basingstoke and Deane's 'Walking the way to Health' scheme is accredited to the 'Walking the way to Health Initiative' (WHI).
WHI is a national scheme run by Natural England that offers support and encouragement to walkers and health and leisure professionals,
with the aim of improving the nation's health.
See the WHI website for more information.
Basingstoke and Deane's scheme is supported and administered by Basingstoke and Deane Borough Council.
It offers regular walks that are free and open to all.
Trained walk leaders take groups of walkers on short walks (usually about one hour) in and around Basingstoke.
There are walks on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday.
Some countryside walks take place at weekends, usually on Sundays.
You can join one or more of these walks as you please.
You'll be amazed at how interesting these walks can be, visiting the footpaths, estates and green spaces in and around Basingstoke.
