There are walks most weekdays in Basingstoke and some at the weekends. Please arrive a little early to allow time to register. Click here for a handy printable reference (PDF file).

Monday There are in fact two walks on a Monday morning, both starting at 11:00 from the boating lake in Eastrop Park. The regular walk is medium-paced and lasts between sixty and ninety minutes. The slower walk lasts up to sixty minutes and is designed for those who have or are recovering from a medical problem that limits their walking abilities.

Tuesday Join Forestry Commission leaders for a walk of about an hour (1-3 miles) at 11.30am on Tuesday mornings in Basing Wood. Meet at the entrance to the wood behind Popley Fields Community Centre, Carpenters Down, Popley, Basingstoke, RG24 9AE. Free parking and toilets available. Dress for the weather, wearing outdoor clothing and footwear - it might be muddy! *** BOOKING REQUIRED FOR THIS WALK** Please call or leave a message for Jane, Nayana or Emily if you would like to come along to this walk. Wednesday morning (Whitchurch) Meet in the Gill Nethercott Centre at 9.45am on Wednesdays for registration; the walk starts at 10.00am, finishing at about 11.00am for refreshments. There is no charge to come along and all are welcome. Don't worry about coming along on your own, you'll be made very welcome - but do dress for the weather and wear shoes suitable for walking. Wednesday morning (Aquadrome) This Wednesday morning walk starts at 11:00 from the Aquadrome swimming pool at the Leisure Park and lasts about 60 minutes. Meet at the cafe inside the entrance. After the walk you can enjoy a chat over a tea or a regular coffee at a discount rate.

Wednesday morning (Kingsclere) Meet at 10:15 for 10:30 on the first Wednesday of each month for a gentle stroll. Meet Jean in Kingsclere Square.

Wednesday evening The Wednesday evening walk starts at 7:00pm from various locations in Basingstoke. In the winter months bring a torch if you have one.

Thursday The Thursday walk starts at 11:00 from the walled garden at Down Grange and lasts about 60 minutes. Follow the road to the walled garden from the entrance in Pack Lane. After the walk, for a small donation, you can enjoy a chat over a tea or a coffee and a biscuit in 'The Bothy' inside the walled garden.

Friday morning (Popley) The Friday Popley walk starts at 11:00 from the Shakespear House Medical Centre. After the walk you can enjoy cheap refreshments at the centre.

Friday afternoon (Tadley) The Friday Tadley walk starts at 1:30pm on the first and third Friday of each month from the Library and swimming pool respectively.

Sunday (last Sunday every month) Meet Jennifer at the layby outside Oakley village school at 2.15pm for a 2.30pm start. The walk lasts about one hour. Keep an eye on the home page for any possible venue changes.

Weekends Weekend walks are occasional, usually one or two per month, and usually on a Sunday. They are usually countryside walks of between four and seven miles and last between two and four hours.
